About

Ms. Brady the Science Lady

My name is Caitlin Brady. Despite the many years I spent swearing up and down that I would never become a teacher, I am currently enjoying sharing my love of science with my middle school students in San Jose, CA.

I have a wide range of experiences from baking bread for a historic San Francisco sourdough company - Boudin - to managing the lovely and eccentric staff at a costume mansion and novelty shop in the heart of Old Sacramento - Evangeline's. I have Bachelors of Science in Evolution, Ecology, and Conservation and worked as an undergrad alongside my professor in his lab. Now, I am working on getting my teaching credential and masters in educational technology. I love a good challenge and to learn new things

Working as a part of a team and feeling like I am a part of something bigger than myself has surfaced throughout my professional journey as a driving motivation behind everything I do.

Outside of my professional adventures, I love to read both fiction and non-fiction. I was really into dystopian science fiction, but as life kept getting more and more like a dystopian fiction novel, I began finding more comfort in crime fiction (a phenomenon I can neither explain nor defend).

To round out my nerd cred, I play DnD pretty regularly. Solving puzzles, strategizing as a team (even in a fictional world), and enjoying social interaction regularly during these long COVID days - it's an all around good time.
